I am writing to give my recommendation to the Calleo School. It is a fantastic place, with a relaxed atmosphere, at which to study the language. I attended both individual lessons and group classes in the spring of 2009. My experience with the teachers and staff at the school was absolutely first rate. They are friendly, full of energy and fluent in English. I was able to set my own schedule for individual lessons. My teacher for these lessons immediately determined how much I could take in, and set a pace that was right for me. If I had difficulty with a subject, we spent as much time as was needed on it. She was very knowledgeable in the history of Polish language, as well as grammar and conversational usage. I truly felt that she was invested in me as a student, and wanted to help me achieve communication.The group classes were a fantastic compliment to my studies. The teacher of the group was able to communicate with students in several languages, allowing for a truly international class. The level of experience of those present dictated what the group lessons were, and how advanced. The Calleo School method of teaching seemed to relay all important elements of a language together, so I was learning pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary from several relevant areas all at once. However, I did not feel overwhelmed. Instead, my teachers made me feel confident, and that I was making progress, and that learning Polish was indeed possible. I would absolutely recommend Calleo School of Polish to anyone who wants to study Polish. Whether someone is serious about becoming fluent, or just wants to speak enough to have a visit, the school can guide them to their goal. I had a wonderful experience there, and will be studying there again whenever I return to Poland. I started particular classes during the summer, because I wanted to learn as quick as possible, even if I realized quite quickly that learning polish could not be really quick. Nevermind, I enjoyed my lesson so much, that it was like a break after a hard day at work! Also, it has been a great opportunity to meet other foreigners learning polish at Calleo during some visits or parties organized by Calleo. After 9 months, when I left Poland, I was able to speak with my polish collegues and friends in their language, and when I came back for holidays in Krakow few weeks ago, I was impressed to see that I still could understand and speak polish with them! Ze wszystkich licznych szkół językowych spodobały mi się dwie najważniejsze rzeczy: to, że szkoła znajduje się w centrum Krakowa i że jest naprawdę niedrogo. Postanowiłam to sprawdzić. Szkołę znalazłam bez problemu (ul. Basztowa 3, tramwajem dojechałam do przystanku Basztowa LOT, a dalej na nogach, za szkołą muzyczną). Wyszła do mnie bardzo sympatyczna , uśmiechnięta osoba, świetnie mówiąca po angielsku. Przedstawiła się jako dyrektor szkoły. Od razu poczułam, że jest troskliwa i zaangażowana a atmosfera w szkole miła, tak jak w domu. To późnej się sprawdziło. Patrycja Cichowska dyrektor szkoły to bardzo miła, kompetentna osoba. Umie nie tylko wytłumaczyć każdą regułę, lecz także zorganizować świetny wieczór z oglądaniem filmu, slajdów albo wycieczkę do teatru czy wyjście do knajpy. To bardzo pomaga, jeżeli nie masz przyjaciół w nowym dla ciebie kraju. Przez to, że grupy są nieliczne (5-9 osób) nauka idzie szybko. Sama zdałam egzamin po roku nauki (przyjechałam do Polski 26.07.2006 a egzamin pisałam 23.07.2007). Muszę przyznać, że bardzo mi na tym zależało, dlatego pod koniec roku brałam lekcje indywidualne. Dzisiaj pracuję w szkole jako nauczycielka muzyki. Ale więcej mówię, niż śpiewam ?! Ten list to dowód na to, że z ''Calleo'' warto uczyć się polskiego! Przez dwa tygodnie chodziłem na lekcje bardzo praktyczne(zakupy, zamawianie w restauracji, itp...). In Calleo with the people and the teaching style I really enjoyed learning Polish... And since Polish was a different and difficult language for me learning the logic of the language was more important...
